Berryville Main Street -- a not for profit organization -- is part of a nationwide initiative created by the National Trust for Historic Preservation in 1985 to encourage growth and revitalization of small towns across the United States.

The program is administered through the state and Berryville is one of only 21 towns in Virginia to earn this prestigious designation. 

Berryville Main Street fulfills its mission in a variety of ways, ranging from sponsorship and partnerships for downtown events to a major adaptive reuse project that has transformed the town’s former fire house into a new retail destination, The Fire House Gallery and Shop
